So, yeah... I haven't updated this blog in light years. Totally not (really) my fault. 8D I just finally got Revenge Cake completed after an apologetically long time of being gone. I moved twice, got sick with some wicked flu bug, and had to finish my app for Grad School. Mixed in with a few other instances of mayhem, I've had a really hectic last few months, but I'm totally back again, and with a new fic! Fiest your eyes on Misplaced Need.
Lovely banner made by artbeatsandlife, who has been a great fan of Revenge Cake and has also picked up my new fic, graciously making the banner for me as well.
Want a quick preview?
He scrutinized her in the dark, only a shaft of moonlight washing, cold, over her pale body. It dipped in through the curtains, curving across the mattress and sheets. It was a winter moon, despite the fact that it rose in the middle of summer. The room was almost too warm with minimal effort exerted on behalf of the air conditioning. The window unit buzzed grumpily in the living room, and the sound carried. It sifted through the house like a stale breeze.
The sheet wrapped around his leg was damp from the lingering sweat of sex. It pressed against his skin like a clammy hand. Jacob tried to maneuver his leg free without jostling the bed, but the smallest movement made Bella pout in her sleep, so he conceded himself to the bind, and he watched her sleep.
Because he couldn't.
Maybe, once upon a time, he would have believed that it was all he needed, but he couldn't continue to convince himself. In the dead of night, he was the one lying awake, staring at the arm that somehow never remained tucked underneath the covers. It rested upright, and he could see the crescent moon scar of raised skin. He didn't know who had marked her, but it didn't matter. The scar always brought his thoughts to one person, and the horrible idea that, if Edward had come back, Bella would not be sharing his bed.
If you'd like to read the whole fic, check it out on ff.net. (Eventually on Twilighted as well, once I get done posted the rest of RC)

Total Eclipse
So, reading further risks reading a spoiler about the new movie. Not that those of us that like Twilight can actually be spoiled, considering we know how everything ends, but, you know, if you want to be surprised about what was included and what wasn't, just don't read this blog entry. However, I saw Eclipse at the midnight premiere, and once more today, so I'm going to have to talk about it. At least, blog about it.
My favorite scenes:
1)Bella asks Jake to kiss her. He complies. This was my favorite and least favorite scene at the same time. The kiss was totally hot, but I was crushed knowing that Jake is destined to be heartbroken when it comes to Bella.
2)The tent scene. "I'm hotter than you." Yeah? Enough said.
3)When Edward drops Bella off at the side of the road to Jake. His shirt comment made me laugh, and, then, skipping ahead a little, when Jake drops Bella off at home after attempting to kiss her. Cue Charlie interrupting and awkward confession about kissing Bella. Except I love how he didn't seem awkward, how he didn't regret it at all.
Having given my favorite Jake scenes, let me be contradictory by saying that Edward and Bella's bed scene was very steamy. I was impressed. Though my Team Jacob heart wept a little. I thought that this might have been Rob's best portrayal of Eddie.
Now, for my very small rant: WTF how could they end it like that?? It may sound weird for a Team Jacob person to say this, but I was seriously disappointed that they cut out the last scene from Eclipse with Jake running away after having seen the wedding invitation. I mean, that was like a pivotal, tear-jerking point for me when I read the book. How could they take that away? Not to mention, how are they going to work it into the next movie that Jake is gone? I mean, I'm sure they can do it, but it won't be nearly as epic as him running away like in Eclipse. /end rant.
Anyway, after seeing the movie the second time around (in which I spent a great deal of time analyzing Jake for purely artistic reasons), I was finally inspired to work past my writer's block and finish the 19th chapter of Revenge Cake. It's been, what feels like, my most successful fic to date, and it's been a total blast. I never thought I'd cross to the Blackwater side, but, the closer it gets to the release of the Breaking Dawn movie, the more I really wish that Jacob had ended up with Leah.

Revenge Cake (Preview)
By request, I've decided to post a small preview of the second chapter for Revenge Cake, which I sadly won't be allowed to continue until after the contest is over on April 23rd. Anyway, without further ado, here you go:
--------------------------------------------
LEAH POV
I needed some more cake. I needed to smear icing all over my sweet spots so that he would lick it off again like he had in the bathroom. I knitted my hands into his hair as we fucked in the cramped space of his car, guiding his mouth to those spots the best that I could. He'd driven down an old dirt road, parked us in between some trees, and had promptly gotten to business.
I was ass-up on my seat. Jake was doubled over me, his back brushing the roof of his tiny ass clown car. I ignored the gear shift as it prodded me in uncomfortable places, and concentrated on Jake only as he clutched my hips and pulled me onto him. My walls expanded to encompass his width as he plunged deeper, hitting all the right places as his hand—which he slid between my legs too—rubbed my clitoris with his thumb.
I thought that I was going to go cross-eyed.
Holy fuck, where had Zeus's dick been all my life?
“Jacob!” My head bumped the window as pumped into me.
“Yeah?” he grunted.
“This is so--”
I gasped as he rocked back and pressed into unexplored areas.
“--messed up, but don't stop. Don't ever stop. Let's just—Let's just be fuck buddies for the rest of our lives, okay?”
Jacob's fingers dug into my hips. He ducked forward, scraping my back with his teeth. I moaned, fogging up my window with my breath.
“But we hate each other, Leah. Remember?”
I screamed as he thrust into me hard, knocking my head against the glass again, but not giving a shit about the throb of pain. His hands worked up my sides, cupping my tits. He pinched, he pulled, and he bit my shoulder.
I couldn't move. I was paralyzed by ecstasy.
“Oh yeah,” I panted. “I forgot.”

Collabs Are Cool
I'm rounding out the end of my junior year, and the pressure is definitely on. I've taken almost all of my core classes, which means I have to decide on whether to take random electives or find a minor. I was just recently informed that English majors usually have minors. Thanks for informing me sooner, jerks! ;-; The university I attend is sometimes a total crapshoot.
I've been stressing on that as well as my fruitless efforts to find a new, better paying job, and an apartment, worrying that my fiance will not be able to find a new job either, which is half of what I'm relying on in order to get an apartment with him, or I don't know where I'll be living next year except maybe in a box on the side of the road.
Anyway! My point is, my plate's been full lately, and, though I should really concentrate on other things, I've been carving out time for my fanfics. Namely: finishing Phased. I just wrapped up a collab effort with the magnificent BellaFlan, and so Phased is my only concern now. Frankly, I'll be glad when it's done. xD I hate presssssure.
But I'm trying to still churn out quality in my writing rather than just finishing it up, so it'll probably be awhile yet.
My point of this blog is really just to say, yeah, I'm still here. Yeah, I'm still writing. No, I won't ever just leave a story unfinished. ;)
Now, it's time to head to a conference and then spend the evening writing papers for my classes and finishing a novel. Yuck.

Sweet, Sweet Revenge
So I didn't end up placing in the "Will You Marry Me? Contest", and I guess I wasn't all that surprised, considering most people won't vote for what isn't Edward. :P But I was pleased with my entry anyway, and I think I might still submit to the next part of the contest, though I'm not really sure yet, because I'm working on Phased, a collaboration with BellaFlan, and am just, in general, trying to keep up with homework.
However, I have another entry into a contest called "The Very Sexy Unbirthday Contest" on FF.net, and I have high hopes for that one! I love, love, love my story for that, and I've considered making it into a multi-chapter fic at some point.
Really, I just want to show off my banner that ms_ambrosia made me. She's an awesome graphics designer. She makes pretty much all of my banners anymore, and her banner for Revenge Cake, my Unsexy Bday contest entry, was amazing.
Check it out on FF.net, and, soon, on Twilighted.net too! ;)

Contesting
Have I mentioned that I've become obsessed with entering contests?
Yeah, I really mean obsessed.
I should be focusing on completing Phased, which I do, of course, plan to do, but I keep getting into all these little side projects.
A couple of one-shot fanfics on the side won't hurt, right? 8D
So now I'm in the Will You Marry Me? contest, the Black Balloon contest, and, soon, in the Very Sexy Un-birthday contest and the Was that in the books? contest.
Oh jeezmus. I can do thiiiis. I swear.

Orange You Glad?
Someone remind me why it's friggin' hard to eat an orange. I mean, I guess I need directions on how to peel, cut, and eat an orange, because I wound up with juice all over my hands and face, and I'm a sticky, still-hungry mess! I feel like I'm five years old all over again, and I'm glad I sat a considerable distance away from my laptop, or else it would have been juiced. =/
Anyway, I'm still having issues with FF.net, but I've figured a way to work around my irritable upload manager to keep posting my stories, because I'm crafty like that. ;P
In the process of writing Phased and periodically submitting the next chapter of Asking Too Much, I've taken on another project, which is entering the "Was That in the Books? Contest" being hosted on Twilighted.net right now. It's a pretty interesting contest. Of course, I picked Jacob for my character, and I got some pretty interesting quotes that I've been puzzling out all day how to use.
However, I can't start that yet, or work any more on anything fanfiction related, until later tonight after I finish my 15 page short story for class. I have so much revision to do, it's not even funny.
That's why I'm putting aside the oranges and taking some coffee, because I plan to chug through this night and accomplish something!
And, by the way, if you're waiting for my stories to update, or just looking for something to do, you should read this fic:
Becoming Bella Swan by BellaFlan
You can find it on ff.net and twilighted.net! Nifty!
